As part of the final evaluation of the support project to the Private and Associative Sector of Waste Pre-Collection (FILIPA) in Brazzaville (Congo), carried by the GRET (2014-2019), several videos were produced.
In order to keep on functioning after the GRET has withdrawn, the pre-collection operators (OPC) have set up a federation called Lisanga Pona Bopeto ya Brazza (LIPOB – Brazzaville Cleanliness Association). Gio XX, consultant who accompanied its implementation, takes us on a tour of the Mfilou district, inside which the Lebanese company Averda, responsible for collecting waste, does not intervene. LIPOB members therefore filled the gullies with waste to clean up a large public space once littered with garbage. In his eyes, the benefit is double for the inhabitants: the space has become healthier and the roads are now more passable.
